Day 5
I packed a lot into this day because I was doing a lunch, and dinner plus dessert. For lunch, I replicated something Emma Do made our group while in Spain. She made us Banh Mi sandwiches that were so good I knew I wanted to make them for me. This sandwich had pickeld vegtables, thin slises of pork, cilontro, sriracha, mayonnaise, and pate. With the sandwich I also made my ciabatta to go with with. Making the bread took 24 hours because it needed a started. For dinner, my grandmother taught me her Canadian crap cakes. they were so good. We got the crap meat from the local fisherman in Rock Port. I pared the crab cakes with a very fresh chopped salad. Finally, for dessert we made strawberry Pavlova which is made with egg whites and sugar then it is cooked for an hour and topped with whipped cream and fresh fruit. This dessert has been adopted all over the world. The name Pavlova comes from a Russian ballerina. But it is a known dessert all over the UK and the world. I also went grocery store and did shopping for the weekend.

Cosi,
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the Pavlova is made of egg whites/like a meringue? The crab cakes must have tasted so fresh!
