Thursday  Day 4 Italy Today was a very busy but also a calm day. The weather was amazing and so warm, I was in a great mood all day. My grandmother and grandfather lived in Italy for six year when the first got married. So, today was special for me because I got to see what she use to make when she lived there. I started my day with making the homemade pasta. I have gotten my recipe down for making pasta. I also started, the poolish for my  ciabatta bread which will be made tomorrow. My aunt asked me to bake a cake for her fiends birthday party tomorrow. so, I made a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. I then started to prepare the artichokes for the dinner they were roasted in the oven for 45 mins. I had lots of fun making the carbonara but I did mess up and turned the eggs into scrambled eggs because the cooked so fast in the hot pasta pot. Dinner was very good and simple staple meal. Wednesday Russian:  Day 3  I stared cooking to day by making flaky pastry dough for my Russian kubiaka. After that, I made the birds milk cake which is a very sweet Russian dessert. It need many hours to set so I had it early this morning. I prepared all my ingredients for the dinner. And went on a run while I waited for the afternoon to arrive. I had a hard time trying to find an alternative for cool-whip, because I think in translations it americanized the recipe. With tonights dinner I made a Scandinavian cabbage.  I started to assemble the kubiaka I had to have help because there are many layers. I really love this day because I am Russia, and I love learning how to cook Russian food.  Work hours: 10:00-2:00 pm 4:00-8:00 pm Total hours: 7 hours  Bird Milk Cake  Puff Pastry Dough Assembling  kubiaka Scandinavian cabbage

Tuesday  India: Day 2 Today was a lighter cooking day. I worked a lot in my father's garden transplanting the plants I had been growing at school. My family loves Indian spices and just overall all Indian food. So I knew that one of my meals would be trying to make an ideal dish. I choose, chicken tikka masala with white rice, and homemade naan. I started my cooking prep by making the naan dough, it needs at least an hour to raise before rolling it into circles. I then started with deboning chicken thighs and mixing the spices for the marinade. I chopped onion, garlic, and ginger to sauté. Adding the chicken to a hot skillet to slightly cook to get the sides brown. once all ingredients were added, I let the chicken tikka masala cook down till the chicken is tender and cooked. When it is time to eat you place the naan in a hot cast iron pan till bobbles apron and looks burnt then flip and repeat.  Total hours: 10:00-10:30am 2:00-5:00pm  6:00-8:00pm 8 hour 30min NAAN...

Germany

Monday Germany: Today was a full day of cooking, I started my going to the grocery store. When I got home, I started my making marzipan for my  Mandelhörnchen which  is a German cookie dipped in chocolate. Once that was done I worked  on the pasta dough  for my dinner plan which  is to make  Maultaschen. This is a meat pastes  rapped in a pasta d ough  then simmered in water until  cooked. I then realized  as I  was cooking I  needed another meal so last minutes   I  whipped up a classic German  potato salad. The difference in American potato salad, and German the uses vinegar and not mayonnaise. This whole day of cooking was exhausting but so worth it all the food was amazing. I really liked learning how to make Marzipan and the  Maultaschen.  Total hours: 11 hours 9:30-12:30pm 1-2pm Break  2:30-8:30pm  PHOTOS:  Freezing Extra  Making the    Maultaschen Making t...
