Weekly Refection #1

 End of Week #1 

During the week I have realized how much I really do love cooking.  I have been cooking a lot and I have now finally realized how weird I am. But this week has been so amazing. I have gotten to spend time with my father who taught me who to bake and make some of the best desserts ever.  I also have been spending a lot of time with my mentor who is also my grandmother, and the person I look up to when it comes to cooking. They both have taught me things and given me very good tips and tricks. 

I have been having a hard time accomplishing the plating of food because of the food I have been cooking has not always been easy to but on a plate. I have been working on the skills I have needed to learn, like knife skills, and sharing to kitchen. I have never washed so many dishes in my life. After my first day my hands were so dry. I have had a hard times posting my blogs on time because my family does not eat dinner till 8 every night or even later some night. I am eating very European. 

I have almost gotten my hours that are required for the full senior project. Which is very nice but also not planned at all. I have just picked meals that take more time to prepare than I originally thought. I also was able to do lots of gardening which makes me so happy. Because I got to plant my plant I had been growing all term in the greenhouse to now in the soil in my dads garden. 

Another this is being able to learn how to meal pre and trying to cook on a times schedule when the food would be ready. It helps because this summer I will be the cook on a farm and will have to make food for large crowds. Along with needed it to be ready at a specific time.

    Wow! Your food looks fabulous! That loaf of bread is quite a accomplishment to get a good rise and a golden crust!

Wednesday Russian:  Day 3  I stared cooking to day by making flaky pastry dough for my Russian kubiaka. After that, I made the birds milk cake which is a very sweet Russian dessert. It need many hours to set so I had it early this morning. I prepared all my ingredients for the dinner. And went on a run while I waited for the afternoon to arrive. I had a hard time trying to find an alternative for cool-whip, because I think in translations it americanized the recipe. With tonights dinner I made a Scandinavian cabbage.  I started to assemble the kubiaka I had to have help because there are many layers. I really love this day because I am Russia, and I love learning how to cook Russian food.  Work hours: 10:00-2:00 pm 4:00-8:00 pm Total hours: 7 hours  Bird Milk Cake  Puff Pastry Dough Assembling  kubiaka Scandinavian cabbage

Weekly Refection #2

Sunday  May 21, 2023 Total Hours 80 hours  I am finally done, I took a few days off this week to relax because last week I worked strait for the whole week. I was very happy to be able to take a short break before picking back up on the cooking. I did not think I was going to finish my whole project but I did. And it was so worth all the long hours and burns on my hands. I got many battle scares. I have really loved being on senior project.  I did not have much going this week because last week I got almost all my hours in the first week. So I was able to take a little break and relax which was very needed because of last week. I had a hard time following along with my set plan. But I was able to cook food that I have always wanted to make.  I really worked on my goals of getting better at knife skills, chopping fruit, vegetables small, and even.
